DEC Sports & Entertainment is proud to announce that Canadian designer FA Design has signed a four year agreement through the end of the 2019/2020 snowboard season that will give them exclusive rights as the official supplier of outerwear and technical clothing to Canada Snowboard’s  national Speed Teams (Alpine, Snowboardcross, and Para-Snowboard) including the 2018 Olympic & Paralympic Winter Games. Canada Snowboard athletes will be seen worldwide sporting the latest in snowboarding outerwear technologies, bridging the gap between lifestyle and high performance to truly embody Canadian Snowboarding.

FA Design clothing is entirely made, designed, and born in Canada. The synergy between Canada Snowboard, Canadian culture and lifestyle, and FA design is completely unique and unprecedented at this scale.

Freddy Ansara, Founder, Chief Design Officer, and former PGS athlete, is excited about what the partnership between two Canadian snowboard organizations will achieve:

“As a pro snowboarder myself for over 10 years, I understand the equipment needs that today’s athletes require to excel at the highest level. This partnership will not only have a positive impact for the athletes, but for Canada Snowboard as well. Working with a Canadian organization, supporting Canadian athletes is what makes us most proud and together we will see our athletes on top of the podium in Korea.

There has been a huge shift in the industry, not only for athletes, but also for companies. What worked in the past may no longer be as relevant, and change is inevitable. At FA Design our goal is to change the perception of what snowboarding has to offer, and focus on showcasing what snowboarding is and how it can be a great experience. This shift starts with organizations like Canada Snowboard. Seeing the future and working with companies like FA Design are very important in showing that the path to success is not reactive, but proactive.”

Patrick Jarvis, Executive Director of Canada Snowboard, echoed Mr. Ansara’s sentiments:

“This is a great news story, to have someone from the snowboarding family become a successful entrepreneur and then partner with us at Canada Snowboard to provide the current generation of national team members with outstanding clothing. It’s exciting for the athletes, for us, and for FA Design.”

With the PyeongChang 2018 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games only two seasons away, FA Design is already hard at work designing the outerwear our athletes will proudly showcase on the world stage.

“This is the first time we have split the outerwear category between the Speed and Style disciplines” said Peter Cosentino, President DEC Sports & Entertainment “This allows for more and new brands to be part of the Canada Snowboard experience over the quadrennial and ensures our Canadian athletes have the best advantage going into the Olympic Winter Games in 2018”

Stay tuned this fall as this year’s Canada Snowboard speed team uniforms are released and our freestyle teams’ outerwear partner is announced.
