With the Olympic Games less than 12 months away, Freestyle Canada named DEC Sports & Entertainment as their official sponsorship agency for the next two years. Coming off a fresh rebrand in late 2016 and a very successful Freestyle Ski season, where the team captured 35 individual World Cup medals as well as the FIS Freestyle Nations Cup, Freestyle Canada is well-positioned for brands to partner with perhaps one of the most decorated teams at the Olympic Winter Games.

Freestyle Canada will join the Action division of DEC Sports & Entertainment which includes: Canada Snowboard, Gestev Properties including Jamboree Ski & Snowboard Festival, Velirium World Cup Mountain Bike Festival and others. With the creation of the new FIS Super Series Global Ski and Snowboard World Cups the addition of Freestyle Canada to DEC’s offerings will drive incremental value for brands looking to reach the millennial segment.

We look forward to creating strong benefits and value for brands that will include: grass roots programming at resorts across Canada, unique experiences with our national team, branding and hosting opportunities at major events, digital story telling and more. Freestyle Canada has three World Cups in Canada each year that provide brands with local, national and international benefits to drive their partnership ROI.

Today, Freestyle Canada and DEC Sports & Entertainment are excited to welcome and announce a multi-year agreement with Toyota Canada as their Official Mobility Sponsor and Official Vehicle Sponsor.

Through their alignment with Freestyle Canada, Toyota Canada aspires to encourage and enable more Canadians to experience the joy and excitement of participation in sport. As a Top Tier Freestyle Canada partner, Toyota will support elite level athletes and their respective national teams, as well as the development of various grassroots sports initiatives.

“Sports inspires people to overcome barriers and to get moving,” said Cyril Dimitris, Vice President, Sales and Marketing, Toyota Canada Inc. “Becoming the Official Mobility Sponsor of Freestyle Canada is part of Toyota’s vision of an inclusive society in which  all people can participate.”

As a new Tier 1 partner, Toyota will receive benefits around the organization’s domestically hosted international competitions as Presenting Sponsor of the annual FIS Freestyle Ski World Cup events in Quebec and Alberta. The partnership also supports future generations of freestyle skiing athletes with Title Sponsorship of the Canadian National Championship events and World Cup Community Days.

“Corporate partner support is critical to Freestyle Canada’s ability to deliver the highest quality programs and services to our athletes, coaches, and clubs across Canada,” said Bruce Robinson, CEO of Freestyle Canada. “We are committed to providing best in class events like our Canadian Freestyle Ski Championships, Canadian Freestyle Ski Junior Championships, and the Canada Cup series, and support from great companies like Toyota Canada are key to these endeavours.”

Partnership discussions between the two organizations began in the winter of 2016 with the support of DEC Sports & Entertainment, Freestyle Canada’s Official Sponsorship agency. The partnership will continue through to the spring of 2021.
