Peter Cosentino is the President of DEC Sports & Entertainment, an agency designed to create relevant partnerships that connect people though niche properties in Canada and the United States. Current and former client lists include the Canadian Opera Company, Canada Snowboard,The House of Blues Concerts Canada, Cycling Canada, Commonwealth Games Canada, Gestev Inc. Ontario Special Olympics, Hockey Heritage North , the Forzani Group Foundation and The Just For Laughs Festival and Canada’s Walk of Fame.Prior to creating DEC, Cosentino was appointed Vice President – Marketing of the Toronto Blue Jays Baseball Club on November 30, 2001, following Rogers Communications Inc.’s purchase of an 80% controlling interest in the Club. Prior to that Mr. Cosentino was the Director of Marketing, Advertising, Promotions and Game Entertainment.
Mr. Cosentino had a long association with the Toronto Blue Jays dating back to Toronto’s inaugural World Series year of 1992. In the mid 1990s, he became Director, Marketing of the Toronto Argonauts Football Club under Labatt’s dual ownership of both Clubs. His main focus was on driving revenue and single game tickets for the Toronto Blue Jays while, creating value on various platforms offered through convergence with other Rogers’ Operating Companies as well as driving customers to channels of distribution through advertising, promotions, brand management and game/event management.
Prior to joining the Toronto Blue Jays, Mr. Cosentino was involved with Howard Schwartz Productions, where he coordinated four-city Canadian tour< and ten-city US tour for the Crystal Light National Aerobics Championships. Cosentino also developed and executed the marketing, media, events and promotional plan for the Seneca College Varsity Athletic Program. Cosentino has a passion for tennis and is a member of the Boulevard Club’s Tennis Committee. He was also a volunteer board Member of Special Olympics Canada’s Special Olympics Festival Breakfast Committee and a post board member of the Marketing Committee for the Toronto Entertainment District Association. And a past board member of the Conn Smythe Sports Celebrities Dinner for Easter Seals Society. He is an active volunteer at the York University Sport Administration Alumni Association. Mr. Cosentino graduated with Specialized Honors, B.A. in Sport Administration from York University in 1987 and resides in Toronto, Ontario.
